Cox Operating is committed to conducting business in a manner that safeguards its employees, contractors, customers and the environment in which it does business. It is the company’s policy to comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations and, whenever possible, exceed the minimum standards on all environment safety practices.
Cox Operating’s Spill Response Program was approved by and is on file with BOEM/BSEE along with our Worst-Case Discharge Certification. We are members of Clean Gulf Associates, where Clean Gulf personnel and equipment are prepared to respond to incidents 24 hours a day, year-round.
Clean Gulf Associates is a not-for-profit oil spill cooperative dedicated to the Gulf of Mexico’s exploration and production (E&P) industry, which provides continuous coverage, state-of-the-art equipment, and expert personnel to assist its members in mitigating marine incidents and protecting natural ecosystems. Their current membership consists of 112 major and small independent companies, making the association one of North America’s largest oil spill cooperatives by membership.
By coordinating shared financial responsibility for these resources, Clean Gulf minimizes or even eliminates the need for each member company to stockpile or fund personnel to conduct on-water oil spill response, dispersant operations, insitu-burn, and wildlife rehabilitation services.
Clean Gulf works closely with its member companies and affiliates, the United States Coast Guard, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, and all Gulf Coast state environmental and regulatory agencies to protect the coast and its habitat, and to ensure the highest level of regulatory compliance.
