Dan comes to Cox Operating after 23 years as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) where he served in investigative, supervisory and executive roles. He began his career in the Houston Field Office in 1995 investigating white collar crimes then was transferred home to New Orleans after five years where he continued to investigate fraud matters before being assigned to a public corruption squad.
In 2008, Dan was named supervisor of his New Orleans public corruption squad which he led until 2015. During these seven years, Dan spent 18 months as the assistant chief for the Public Corruption/Civil Rights Section at FBI headquarters where he helped developed national strategy as well as oversaw all personnel and budget matters for the section. In 2015, he was promoted to an assistant special agent in charge position in New Orleans where he was responsible for all FBI criminal investigative activity for the state of Louisiana.
Dan eventually became responsible for all office business and personnel functions while still leading all white collar/public corruption/civil rights investigative efforts. He is a New Orleans native where attended Loyola University receiving both a BA and JD.
