A fourth generation oilman, Brad E. Cox has been involved in the family’s oil and gas business for the past fifteen years. Mr. Cox started Cox Operating LLC in January 2004 to operate the family’s Gulf Coast assets. Since the company’s inception, Mr. Cox has purchased and operated additional oil and gas assets in offshore Louisiana where he has specialized in maximizing the production levels and values of mature energy assets. Prior to starting Cox Operating, Mr. Cox had extensive experience trading and investing in commodities. During the late 1990s, Mr. Cox managed XYRX, a private commodities investment firm with multiple commodity traders and created Metis Fund Management, a specialized commodities and futures trading platform. During that time, he also formed Metis Resources, LLC, a commodities brokerage firm. Metis Resources still handles large positions for several institutional investors. In addition, Mr. Cox helped start a retail online commodities trading platform called FuturesNow.com, which was ultimately sold.
